In our Sashiko Repair Kit you will find everything you need to learn the basics of Sashiko mending, practice your technique, and quickly start working on your own projects. The kit includes a natural cotton tote bag ready to be embellished using the Sashiko method. Sashiko (“little stabs”) is the Japanese art of repairing fabrics by sewing patterns onto them. Its exact origins are unknown, but by the 19th century, the technique had been adopted throughout Japan as a means to strengthen and decorate clothes. Even the firefighters’ uniforms consisted of a thick cotton jacket with intricate sashiko designs that would help the garment retain more water. Sashiko can now be seen on catwalks and designer clothes across the world.
Though sashiko is traditionally made by stitching white or red thread onto indigo-dyed fabric, the technique can be used on any fabric, in any colour and pattern: whole art pieces have been sewn into garments this way! We hope you have as much fun tailoring your clothes as we had developing this kit.

All our kits include free and fast shipping by a tracked courier, deliveries typically take 1-3 working days to arrive. If they haven't arrived by that time then please do get in touch.
We also offer an expedited next working day shipping service, for which the cut-off time for same day dispatch is 4pm.
All of our orders are delivered by Amazon's fulfillment network, as they are able to offer an incredibly efficient and reliable service, so if your parcel arrives in an Amazon box there's no need to worry!
United States:
All our kits include free shipping to the USA by a tracked courier. Orders to the USA are sent out from our warehouse in the USA so you don't need to worry about customs fees or potential delays.
Standard USA delivery is in 3-5 working days, but there are options to upgrade to faster delivery methods when you check out.
Rest of the world:
We're currently only able to dispatch orders to the UK and USA, however we are currently working on expanding our local warehouse network to enable us to ship to more countries.
